What is VocalLab?
VocalLab is an AI voice studio. You can turn text into speech with 260+ voices in 15+ languages, direct how each line is delivered, clone your own voice, design new voices, turn ebooks into multi-voice audiobooks, make two-host podcasts, dub videos and transcribe audio.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. Sign up without a card and you get 60 points, about one minute of audio, plus one voice clone. That is enough to hear every voice and test your own.
How do points work?
One point is roughly one second of audio, about 17 characters of text. A 60-second voiceover uses around 60 points. Paid plans refill every billing cycle.
What is voice steering?
You put a direction in square brackets at the start of a line, like [whisper like a secret] or [say excitedly], and the voice performs it. Sound tags such as [laugh], [sigh] and [breathe] work on every plan. Written directions need the VocalLab Studio model, which comes with Pro.
Can I clone my own voice?
Yes. Record or upload a short, clean sample and your voice is ready in about a minute. The free plan includes one clone; paid plans let you clone as many times as you like.
Can I use the audio commercially?
Audio made on a paid plan comes with a commercial-use license for videos, ads, apps, courses and audiobooks. The free plan is for personal testing.
Which languages are supported?
English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Russian, Dutch, Polish, Hindi, Arabic and Hebrew, with native voices for each.
