What Can You Create with M4B Audiobook Export?

From TikTok to podcasts — here's where creators use this tool most.

  • Listening in an audiobook player

A single M4B with chapters is easier to browse than a folder of numbered tracks.
  • Sending chapters to an editor

The ZIP with one file per chapter lets a sound editor fix or replace a single chapter without touching the rest.
  • Archiving a master

Export WAV as a lossless copy, then make smaller delivery files from it later.
  • One-file distribution

A merged MP3 with chapter markers keeps the whole book as one file for players that read ID3 chapters.

About this tool

Everything you need to know about M4B Audiobook Export

To get an M4B audiobook with chapters, finish your book in the audiobook editor and pick M4B as the export package. The chapter markers are taken from the encoded audio itself, so they land on the right second and do not drift over a long book. M4B is one of several ways out. You can also download one merged MP3, optionally with chapter markers, a ZIP holding one file per chapter, or WAV. Exporting costs 0 points.

FAQ

M4B Audiobook Export — FAQ

Something not covered here? Contact us · support@vocallab.ai

Why do the chapter markers stay accurate?

They are taken from the encoded audio rather than estimated from the script. What you hear at a chapter start is where the marker sits, even on a long book.

Can I pick a bitrate for the export?

You can choose a delivery bitrate, but it only steps down from the quality the book was generated at. A book generated at a lower quality cannot be exported higher.

Does the M4B include cover art?

No. Cover art is not embedded in the M4B. Add it afterwards in your player or a tagging tool.

What is loudness mastering?

An optional pass measured once over the whole book. Chapters keep their relative levels, so a quiet chapter is not boosted to match a loud one.

Does exporting spend points?

No. Generating the audio uses points. Packaging it as M4B, MP3, ZIP or WAV costs nothing.
