About this tool

Everything you need to know about Dub Video From SRT Subtitles

Dub from SRT when you already have the words. Start a dub with your own translated subtitle file and the Studio uses its wording instead of a machine translation. Cues are matched to the video's lines by overlapping time, not by cue number, so a file that splits or merges cues still lands in the right place. Your text is kept exactly as written in the editor and in the exported captions, and a pronunciation list changes only what is spoken. Lines no cue covers keep their existing text. Dubbing is available on paid plans. Uploading is free and the price is shown before you analyze.

FAQ

Dub Video From SRT Subtitles — FAQ

Something not covered here? Contact us · support@vocallab.ai

Is my subtitle wording changed?

No. The words in your SRT are used as supplied, both in the editor and in the exported captions. Only the spoken audio can differ, and only where you add a pronunciation rule.

Does my SRT have to match the video cue for cue?

No. Each cue is matched to the line it overlaps in time, so a translator who split one long cue into two, or merged two short ones, does not throw the rest of the file out of step.

Can I use subtitles in the original language?

Yes. Import them as the project captions and they set the lines and their timings, which you then translate. Do this before you dub, because importing project captions rebuilds the timings and removes dubs already made.

What if a word is spoken wrong?

Add it to the pronunciation list. That changes only the spoken audio. The subtitle text stays as you wrote it.

Can I try it without paying?

Uploading is free and the price is shown before analysis. Voicing the dub needs a paid plan.

Dub the video in Studio.

Upload the video, pick a target language and voice the lines. Dubbing is on paid plans; uploading is free.
