If your ebook is a FictionBook file, with the extension .fb2 or .fb2.zip, you can upload it directly and turn it into an audiobook. FB2 is common for Russian and Eastern European libraries, so the text is often not English. FAQ

FB2 to Audiobook — FAQ

Something not covered here? Contact us · support@vocallab.ai

Do I need to unzip a .fb2.zip file?

No. Upload the .fb2.zip as it is. Plain .fb2 files work too.

Can the book be in Russian, Ukrainian or Polish?

Yes. The Studio model speaks 200+ languages including those three, so you can narrate the book in the language it was written in.

What if the letters look broken in my reader?

Fix that before uploading. If the text shows boxes or garbled characters in an ebook reader, the narration will not repair it. Re-download or re-export a clean copy of the file.

Can I mix languages in one book?

A book with occasional foreign phrases is fine. For long passages in a second language, assign a different voice to those lines and listen to a sample first.

Will the book be split into chapters?

Yes. FB2 declares its own chapter tree, so chapters come from the file rather than being guessed. Footnote sections are skipped, so notes are not read out at the end of the book.
