  1. Lay out the stages

Write the stages as separate lines: settling, sankalpa, rotation of consciousness, breath awareness, stillness and return.
  2. Time the rotation

Place a 2 to 4 second pause after each body part. Use a longer pause between sides or regions.
  3. Build the stillness with pause blocks

In the project editor, put pause blocks between the final lines for the long silence.
  4. Pick a voice, set Stable and export

Choose a calm voice or your clone. Slow the speed and export an MP3 for your students.

About this tool

Everything you need to know about Yoga Nidra Audio

A yoga nidra session is lying-down guidance, not movement. It follows a known shape: settle, state a sankalpa, rotate awareness around the body, notice the breath, then rest in stillness before a gentle return. Long silence is built in. This page turns your nidra script into audio with pause tags and pause blocks. The yoga class page handles cues for poses and flow.

FAQ

Yoga Nidra Audio — FAQ

How is this different from yoga class narration?

Class narration cues poses, transitions and breath in motion. Yoga nidra is done lying still, with a steady voice and long gaps. The scripts, the pace and the pause lengths differ.

Where does the sankalpa go?

Most nidra scripts state the sankalpa near the beginning and repeat it near the end. Write it as its own line, with a pause of a few seconds after it so the listener can hold it.

How do I time the rotation of consciousness?

Name each body part in order, with a 2 to 4 second pause after each. A list of right hand thumb, index finger and so on needs many short pauses. Build it as several lines in the project editor.

How do I get a long stillness near the end?

A pause tag holds up to 10 seconds. For a minute of silence, place pause blocks between lines in the project editor. Alternatively, add silence in your audio editor after export.

Can I record the session in my own voice?

Yes. Clone your voice from a 15 to 30 second sample, then select that voice for the narrator. Consent is confirmed when you clone.
