A podcast is charged in two separate parts, and they happen at different times.
1. Writing the script
200 points, plus 15 points per minute of episode.
| Length | Script |
|---|---|
| 5 min | 275 points |
| 10 min | 350 points |
| 30 min | 650 points |
| 60 min | 1,100 points |
Charged once, when you click Write the episode. The price is shown next to the button before you commit.
Why a setup charge plus a rate: planning the episode and filling it out are fixed costs that do not get cheaper because the episode is short. Splitting the charge is what keeps a five-minute episode fairly priced against a sixty-minute one.
Pasting your own script costs nothing. No AI is involved in reading a NAME: line script — the speakers are detected by a plain parser.
If a script fails to generate, the points are refunded automatically.
2. Voicing it
The same as any other generation: about 1 point per second of audio.
Nothing about podcast audio is priced differently from Text to Speech. You are charged per line, as you generate — so an episode you never voice never costs you anything beyond the script.
| Length | Audio (approx.) |
|---|---|
| 5 min | ~300 points |
| 10 min | ~600 points |
| 30 min | ~1,800 points |
| 60 min | ~3,600 points |
Together
| Episode | Script | Audio | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10-min debate | 350 | ~600 | ~950 points |
| 30-min interview | 650 | ~1,800 | ~2,450 points |
| 60-min panel | 1,100 | ~3,600 | ~4,700 points |
A 60-minute episode is more than a Lite plan's whole monthly allowance. If you plan to make long episodes regularly, Pro is the plan that fits.
Spending less
- Write short, extend in the editor. A 10-minute script costs 350 points; extending it by hand afterwards costs nothing.
- Generate segment by segment. Listen to the first section before voicing the rest. A script you decide against having voiced has only cost you the writing.
- Regenerate lines, not episodes. Fixing one line costs one line's worth of points.
- Paste your own script if you already have one. That half is free.
Regenerating
Re-writing an episode is a new script charge — it is the same work over again.
Editing a line you already voiced and re-generating it costs only that line.
Where to see what you spent
Billing → Usage history lists every charge. Podcast script generation appears as its own line, separate from the audio it produced, so you can see the two halves independently.
