Workspaces

A workspace lets you invite teammates to work on one shared account — a single points balance and one shared set of voices.

Getting a workspace

Some plans include seats; on the others you add them yourself.

Extra seats cost $12 per seat / month ($120/year — two months free), bought in the Studio app under Billing → Team seats in packs of +1, +2, +3 or +5. Purchased seats are added on top of any your plan already includes, so a Max owner who buys 3 can invite 5 people.

Team seats need a shared monthly allowance big enough to split, which is why they start at Pro. On Lite or AppSumo Tier 1 (50 minutes a month) a team would run out almost immediately.

What you get

• Shared points balance — everyone generates from the owner's monthly points. There is no separate wallet; when a member creates speech, it draws from the owner's balance.
• Shared voices — your cloned and designed voices are available to the whole team.
• The owner's features for members — while they're in your workspace, members get the owner's entitlements: the VocalLab Studio model, WAV export, priority generation and the owner's character limits.

What a seat does not include

• No points of its own. A seat is shared access, not a second allowance.
• No separate billing, and no API keys — those stay with the owner.
• Audiobooks are not shared across a workspace yet.

Who can do what

Inviting members

1. Open Workspace → Configuration in the Studio app.
2. Enter a teammate's email and send the invite. They receive an email with an accept link (you can also copy the link directly).
3. The teammate signs in with that email and accepts — they instantly share your balance and Studio features.

Each invite is tied to the email it was sent to. A person can be an active member of only one workspace at a time.

Seats & limits

• Your seat count is whatever your plan includes plus any seats you've purchased.
• Remove a member to free their seat for someone else.
• Need more people? Switch to a bigger seat pack on your existing subscription — don't buy a second pack, or you'd be billed twice for one workspace.
• If you reduce or cancel seats, nobody is removed. You simply can't invite anyone new until you remove a member or add seats back.
• If the owner's plan lapses, members stop drawing from the shared balance and return to their own accounts.

Billing

The owner pays for the single Studio subscription. Members don't need their own paid plan — everything runs on the owner's balance. Points spent by a member appear in the owner's usage history, labeled with who spent them.
